Alix is a French municipality with 763 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône and the canton of Le Bois-d'Oingt . The inhabitants are called Alixois .
geography
Alix is located about 25 kilometers west-northwest of Lyon in the Beaujolais countryside . Alix is surrounded by the neighboring communities Theizé in the north, Lachassagne in the northeast, Marcy in the east, Charnay in the south and Frontenas in the west.
