Meaux-la-Montagne is a French commune with a population of 237 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône , to the canton of Thizy-les-Bourgs (until 2015: canton of Amplepuis ) and is a member of the community association L'Ouest Rhodanien . The inhabitants are called Meldois or Montagnards .

Meaux-la-Montagne is about 45 kilometers northwest of Lyon and about 23 kilometers west-northwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône . Meaux-la-Montagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Bonnet-le-Troncy in the north, Saint-Nizier-d'Azergues in the northeast, Grandris in the east and southeast, Cublize in the south and southwest and Saint-Vincent-de-Reins in the West and northwest.
