Saint-Bonnet-le-Troncy is a French municipality with 313 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône and the canton of Thizy-les-Bourgs (until 2015: canton of Lamure-sur-Azergues ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Bonnins or Saint- Bonnards .

Saint-Bonnet-le-Troncy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Vincent-de-Reins in the north and west, Ranchal in the north, Saint-Nizier-d'Azergues in the east and Meaux-la-Montagne in the south.
