Cublize is a French commune with 1,266 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône , to the canton of Thizy-les-Bourgs (until 2015: canton of Amplepuis ) and is a member of the community association L'Ouest Rhodanien .
geography
Cublize is about 45 kilometers northwest of Lyon and about 26 kilometers west-northwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône . In the southwest of the municipality there is the small (artificial) lake Lac des Sapins . Cublize is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thizy-les-Bourgs in the north and west, Saint-Vincent-de-Reins in the north, Meaux-la-Montagne in the northeast, Grandris in the east, Saint-Just-d'Avray in the southeast, Ronno in the South and Saint-Jean-la-Bussière to the west and south-west.
