During the Hundred Years War , Brignais was the site of the Battle of Brignais between the royal army and the Grandes Compagnies .

Town twinning

City partnerships exist with Hirschberg an der Bergstraße in Baden-Württemberg and Ponsacco in the Italian province of Tuscany .
