Attractions

The Château de Rochetaillée-sur-Saône is located on a hill high above the city and the river. The castle was built in the 12th century, became state property after the French Revolution in 1790 and became increasingly dilapidated. In 1892 Pierre Claude Bellingard carried out the first restoration. When Jean Joseph Clerc took over the castle in 1902, he restored it and expanded it into a chateau. In 1959, Henry Malartre acquired the castle and set up the Musée Henri Malartre automobile museum in it .
