Meys is a French municipality with 850 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Meys belongs administratively to the arrondissement of Lyon and is part of the canton of Vaugneray (until 2015: canton of Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise ).

geography

Meys is located about 35 km west-southwest of Lyon in the Monts du Lyonnais . The Brévenne runs along the southern edge of the municipality . Meys is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Haute-Rivoire in the north, Souzy in the northeast, Aveize in the east, Grézieu-le-Marché in the south and southeast, Maringes in the south and southwest and Virigneux in the west.
