Maringes is a French municipality with 666 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and the canton of Feurs (until 2015 Chazelles-sur-Lyon ). The inhabitants are called maringeons .

geography

Maringes is located about 27 kilometers north-northwest of Saint-Étienne and 48 kilometers west-southwest of Lyon in the historic province of Forez . Maringes is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Virigneux in the north, Meys in the northeast, Viricelles in the east, Chazelles-sur-Lyon in the south and southeast, Bellegarde-en-Forez in the west and southwest and Saint-Cyr-les-Vignes in the west and northwest.
