Cottance is a French commune in the Loire department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the canton of Feurs and the arrondissement of Montbrison . It is bordered by Sainte-Agathe-en-Donzy to the north, Montchal to the northeast, Panissières to the east, Salvizinet to the south, Civens to the southwest and Rozier-en-Donzy to the west .
