Unias is a French municipality with 433 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Unias belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and the canton of Andrézieux-Bouthéon (until 2015: canton of Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert ). The inhabitants are called Uniatières .
geography
Unias is about 22 kilometers north-north-west of Saint-Étienne in the historic Forez landscape on the Loire . Unias is surrounded by the neighboring communities Boisset-lès-Montrond in the north and northwest, Montrond-les-Bains in the north and northeast, Cuzieu in the east, Rivas in the southeast, Craintilleux in the south and L'Hôpital-le-Grand in the west and southwest.
