Wolfgang Dreyer

Wolfgang Dreyer (born 1948 ) is a German zoologist and author . From 1988 to 2014 he was director of the Zoological Museum in Kiel .

Life and professional activity

Dreyer studied from 1971 to 1976 zoology , botany , human genetics and physics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . From 1976 to 1980 he did his doctorate on insect complexes of hedge plants at the University of Bayreuth . From 1980 to 1988 Dreyer worked as a university assistant at the Chair of Ecology at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel , where he took over the scientific management of the Zoological Museum from 1988 to 2014.

Dreyer wrote 27 books that have been translated into eleven languages. He also wrote some texts for the music of the North Frisian group Godewind .
