Saint-Denis-sur-Coise is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pomeys in the north and north-east, Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise in the north-east, Coise in the east, Châtelus in the south-east, Grammond in the south, Chevrières in the west and south-west and Chazelles-sur- Lyon in the northwest.
