Précieux is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Saint-Étienne on the Forez . Précieux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Grézieux-le-Fromental in the north, L'Hôpital-le-Grand in the east and northeast, Sury-le-Comtal in the south and southeast, Saint-Romain-le-Puy in the south, Montbrison in the west and Southwest and Savigneux in the northwest.
