Arthun is a French commune in the Loire department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the canton of Boën-sur-Lignon and the arrondissement of Montbrison . It borders Bussy-Albieux to the north, Sainte-Foy-Saint-Sulpice to the east, Sainte-Agathe-la-Bouteresse to the south, Boën-sur-Lignon to the southwest and Saint-Sixte to the west . Small lakes lie to the east of the municipality and in neighboring Sainte-Foy-Saint-Sulpice.
