history

On the basis of excavations in the area of the lower part of the village, it can be proven that the area was already settled in the early Middle Ages . Parish church and chapel were first mentioned before the year 1000. Parts of the parish were part of the Chevallard fiefdom, while other parts were part of the Guillanche area. In the 1970s there were occasional considerations to build a dam. If this project had been implemented, the Vizézy valley would be completely under water today.
