Verrières-en-Forez is located about 34 kilometers west-northwest of Saint-Étienne and 68 kilometers west-southwest of Lyon in the Forez . Verrières-en-Forez is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bard in the north, Écotay-l'Olme in the northeast, Lézigneux in the east, Chazelles-sur-Lavieu in the south, Gumières in the southwest and Saint-Anthème in the west.
