Soleymieux is a French municipality with 654 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Montbrison (until 2015: canton of Saint-Jean-Soleymieux ).
geography
Soleymieux is located about 28 kilometers west-northwest of Saint-Étienne in the Forez on the Mare River . Soleymieux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Margerie-Chantagret in the north, Saint-Georges-Haute-Ville in the northeast, Boisset-Saint-Priest in the east, Chenereilles in the south and Saint-Jean-Soleymieux in the west.
