Apinac is a French municipality with 416 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and the canton of Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert (until 2015: canton of Saint-Bonnet-le-Château ). The inhabitants are called Apinaquois .
geography
Apinac is located about 31 kilometers west-southwest of Saint-Étienne in the historic Forez landscape in the Massif Central . Apinac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Estivareilles in the north, Merle-Leignec in the east, Saint-Pal-de-Chalencon in the south and Usson-en-Forez in the west.
