Mornand-en-Forez is located about 33 kilometers north-northwest of Saint-Étienne and nine kilometers north-northeast of Montbrison . It lies in a landscape rich in lakes in the Loire Valley and is affected by the Vizezy River . Mornand-en-Forez is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montverdun in the north and north-west, Poncins in the north-east, Chambéon in the east and north-east, Magneux-Haute-Rive in the east, Chalain-le-Comtal in the south-east, Savigneux in the south and Saint-Paul- d'Uzore in the west.
