Périgneux is located about 17 kilometers west of Saint-Étienne am Bonson in the historic Forez landscape in the Massif Central . Périgneux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Marcellin-en-Forez in the north, Chambles in the east, Saint-Maurice-en-Gourgois in the south and south-east, Aboën in the south, Saint-Nizier-de-Fornas in the south-west, La Tourette in the west and southwest, Luriecq to the west and Chenereilles to the northwest.
