Trelins is a French commune in the Loire department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). It belongs to the canton of Boën-sur-Lignon and the arrondissement of Montbrison . It borders on Leigneux to the north-west, Boën-sur-Lignon to the north, Sainte-Agathe-la-Bouteresse to the north-east, Montverdun to the east, Marcoux to the south, Saint-Georges-en-Couzan to the south-west and to the west to Sail-sous-Couzan .
