Sail-sous-Couzan is a French municipality with 941 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). Administratively it belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and is part of the canton of Boën-sur-Lignon (until 2015 Saint-Georges-en-Couzan ). The inhabitants are called Couzannais .

Sail-sous-Couzan is located about 50 kilometers northwest of Saint-Étienne on the Lignon du Forez and in the Forez in the Massif Central . Sail-sous-Couzan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Sixte in the north, Leigneux in the east and northeast, Trelins in the east and southeast, Saint-Georges-en-Couzan in the south and southwest, Palogneux in the west and Débats-Rivière-d ' Orpra in the northwest.
