Veauche is a French municipality with 8984 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .

geography

Veauche is located about 15 kilometers north of Saint-Étienne on the east bank of the Loire . On the west bank opposite, which can be reached via a bridge, is the commune of Veauchette and the French A72 / E70 motorway that connects Saint-Étienne with Clermont-Ferrand .

The Saint-Galmier-Veauche station on the Roanne – Andrézieux railway, the third railway line in France , has been located in the municipality since 1832 .
