Feurs is a French municipality with 8173 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and is the capital of the canton of the same name . Feurs is the birthplace of Geoffroy Guichard , who later became the founder of Casino Guichard .

The small town is located in the historical province of Forez on the right bank of the Loire, around 70 km west of Lyon .
