It belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and the canton of Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert (until 2015: canton of Saint-Bonnet-le-Château ). The inhabitants are called Roziérois .

Rozier-Côtes-d'Aurec is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Nizier-de-Fornas in the north and north-west, Aboën in the north, Saint-Maurice-en-Gourgois in the north-east, Malvalette in the south and east, Bas-en-Basset in the South and Saint-Hilaire-Cusson-la-Valmitte to the west.
