Usson-en-Forez is a French commune with 1,482 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and the canton of Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert (until 2015: canton of Saint-Bonnet-le-Château ).

Usson-en-Forez is located in the historic Forez landscape in the Massif Central . Usson-en-Forez is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saillant in the north, Estivareilles in the northeast, Apinac in the east, Saint-Pal-de-Chalencon and Saint-Julien-d'Ance in the south, Saint-Georges-Lagricol and Craponne-sur- Arzon in the southwest, Sauvessanges in the west and Viverols in the northwest.
