Roche is located about 39 kilometers northwest of Saint-Étienne on the Forez . Roche is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Bonnet-le-Courreau in the north, Châtelneuf in the northeast, Essertines-en-Châtelneuf in the east, Lérigneux in the south and southeast and Saint-Anthème in the west.
