Lérigneux is a French commune in the Loire department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Montbrison and the arrondissement of the same name .

Landscape at the Col de Baracuchet

The Col de Baracuchet, a at 1267 m. ü. M. located pass crossing , connects Lérigneux with the neighboring municipality of Saint-Anthème in the southwest. The other neighboring communities are Roche in the northwest, Essertines-en-Châtelneuf in the northeast and Bard in the southeast.

Attractions

The parish church of the village was first mentioned in 1225. After the parish was dissolved during the French Revolution, the previous building from the 16th century fell into disrepair and after the parish was re-established it was replaced by the current building from the 1830s. The church was declared a Monument Historique in 2011 .
