Valeille is a French municipality with 737 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .
geography
Valeille is about six kilometers southeast of the small town of Feurs on the line connecting Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand . The municipality is located on the edge of the Montagnes du Matin in a landscape characterized by forests and valleys that opens to the west into the Loire Valley. There are a total of nine ponds in the area of the municipality.
history
The place was first mentioned in the 10th century and was bailiwick of the county of Forez in the Middle Ages .
