Chevrières is located about 16 kilometers north-northeast of Saint-Étienne and 38 kilometers southwest of Lyon in the historic province of Forez . Chevrières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chazelles-sur-Lyon in the north and north-west, Saint-Denis-sur-Coise in the north and north-east, Grammond in the east and south-east, Fontanès and La Gimond in the south, Aveizieux in the west and south-west and Saint-Médard -en-Forez in the west.
