Saint-Pal-de-Chalencon is located about 31 kilometers north-northeast of Le Puy-en-Velay on the border of the natural landscapes Emblavès (also spelled Emblavez ) and Forez . The neighboring communities of Saint-Pal-de-Chalencon are Usson-en-Forez in the north and west, Apinac in the north-east, Merle-Leignec in the east and north-east, Boisset in the south, and Saint-Julien-d'Ance in the south-west.
