geography

Lapte is located in the Velay , a landscape in the French Massif Central , about 30 kilometers east-northeast of Le Puy-en-Velay . The Lignon du Velay and Lake Lignon limit the municipality to the south. Lapte is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Sainte-Sigolène in the north, Saint-Pal-de-Mons in the northeast, Raucoules in the east, Montregard in the southeast, Tence in the south and southeast, Chenereilles in the south, Saint-Jeures in the southwest and Grazac in the west.
