Saint-André-de-Chalencon is located on the Ance , about 26 kilometers north-northeast of Le Puy-en-Velay on the border of the natural landscapes Emblavès (also spelled Emblavez ) and Forez . The neighboring municipalities of Saint-André-de-Chalencon are Saint-Julien-d'Ance in the north and west, Boisset in the north and northeast, Tiranges in the east, Solignac-sous-Roche in the southeast, Roche-en-Régnier in the south and Saint -Pierre-du-Champ to the west and south-west.
