Cape Simpson is a towering and rocky headland on the north coast of the island of Ufsøy, off the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . The cape forms the east side of the entrance to.
Participants of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered this formation in February 1931. Mawson named it after the Australian entrepreneur Frederick Neighbor Simpson (1877-1954), a sponsor of this research trip .
