The Howard Bay (in Norway Ufsøyvågen ) is a 3-km wide bay at the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Lands . It lies between the headland of Byrd Head and the island of Ufsøy .
Participants of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered them in February 1931. Mawson named them after Alf Howard (1906-2010), hydrologist on this research trip .
