The Mawson Coast is a stretch of coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It extends from William Scoresby Bay at 59 ° 34 'E to the Murray Monolith at 66 ° 54' E. Mawson Station is located in this area .

Participants in the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE, 1929–1931), led by the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson , sighted the coast for the first time. Between 1930 and 1931, after landings, they also explored the adjoining stretch of coast between Cape Bruce at 67 ° 25 'east longitude and the Scullin Monolith at 67 ° 47' east longitude. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named the coast after Douglas Mawson in recognition of his significant contributions to Antarctic research.
