Raucoules ( Occitan : Raucolàs ) is a French municipality with 923 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Yssingeaux and the canton of Boutières (until 2015: canton of Montfaucon-en-Velay ).
geography
Raucoules is located about 27 kilometers east-northeast of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Velay , a landscape in the French Massif Central , on Dunières , which forms the northern municipal boundary. Raucoules is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pal-de-Mons in the north, Dunières in the northeast, Montfaucon-en-Velay in the east, Montregard in the southeast and Lapte in the south and west.
