Dunières ( Occitan : Dunèiras ) is a French municipality with 2,787 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Yssingeaux and the canton of Boutières .

Dunières is located in the Velay , a landscape in the French Massif Central on the Dunières river of the same name . The municipality of Dunières is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Romain-Lachalm in the north, Riotord in the east, Saint-Julien-Molhesabate in the southeast, Montregard in the south, Montfaucon-en-Velay and Raucoules in the southwest and Saint-Pal-de-Mons in the West and northwest.
