Saint-Didier-au-Mont- d'Or is a commune with 6785 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Métropole de Lyon in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Administratively it belongs to the Arrondissement of Lyon and was part of the canton of Limonest until 2015 . The inhabitants are called désidériens .
geography
Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d'Or is north of Lyon . It is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Poleymieux-au-Mont-d'Or in the north, Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or in the east, Lyon in the south, Champagne-au-Mont-d'Or in the southwest and Limonest in the West and northwest.
history
In 1381 the church of Saint-Didiers was fortified so that the château of Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or should be protected from there. During the French Revolution the place was called Simoneau-au-Mont-d'Or . In December 1900, the community was divided and the southwestern part became independent as Champagne-au-Mont-d'Or.
