Brindas is a French municipality with 6174 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Lyon and the Canton of Brignais . The inhabitants are called Brindasiens .
geography
Brindas is located about 15 kilometers southwest of Lyon in the Yzeron Valley , which borders the municipality in the north. Brindas is surrounded by Grézieu-la-Varenne in the north, Craponne and Francheville in the northeast, Chaponost in the east, Soucieu-en-Jarrest and Messimy in the south and Vaugneray in the west and northwest.
Brindas is located in the Coteaux du Lyonnais wine region .
