Aveize is a French commune with 1,127 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Lyon and the Canton of Vaugneray . The inhabitants are called Aveizois .
geography
Aveize is located about 26 kilometers southwest of Lyon in the Monts du Lyonnais landscape . Aveize is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Foy-l'Argentière in the north, Saint-Genis-l'Argentière in the northeast, Duerne in the east, La Chapelle-sur-Coise in the southeast, Pomeys in the south, and Grézieu-le-Marché in the southwest , Meys in the west and Souzy in the northwest.
