Tartaras is a French municipality with 854 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Tartaras is part of the Roanne arrondissement and the Rive-de-Gier canton .

geography

Tartaras is located about 25 kilometers northeast of Saint-Étienne and about 16 kilometers west-northwest of Vienne . The greed limits the municipality to the south and southwest. Tartaras is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beauvallon with the Commune déléguée Saint-Jean-de-Touslas in the north, Dargoire in the north and northeast, Saint-Romain-en-Gier in the east, Trèves in the south and southeast, Longes in the south, and Châteauneuf in the southwest and Chabanière with the Commune deleguée Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire in the west.
