Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire is a commune Déléguée in the French community Chabanière with 2,346 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The inhabitants are called Les Chats .
With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Saint-Didier-sous-Riverie , Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire and Saint-Sorlin were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Chabanière. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The commune of Saint-Didier-sous-Riverie was part of the arrondissement of Lyon and the canton of Mornant .
geography
Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire is located about 25 kilometers southwest of Lyon in the Monts du Lyonnais mountains of the Massif Central . The Bozançon and Gier rivers run in the vicinity; likewise the autoroute A47 . The neighboring towns of Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire are Saint-Didier-sous-Riverie in the north, Mornant in the northeast, Saint-Andéol-le-Château and Saint-Jean-de-Touslas in the east, Dargoire and Tartaras in the southeast, Châteauneuf in the south and Saint-Joseph in the southwest.
