The canton of Rive-de-Gier is a French canton in the arrondissement of Saint-Étienne in the Loire department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . The main town is Rive-de-Gier . Jean-Claude Charvin ( DVD ) has been a representative in the conseil général des Départements since 1985 .
