Saint-Romain-en-Jarez is surrounded by the neighboring communities Larajasse in the north and northwest, Sainte-Catherine in the north, Chabanière with Saint-Didier-sous-Riverie in the northeast, Saint-Martin-la-Plaine in the east, Genilac in the southeast, Chagnon and Valfleury in the south, Saint-Christo-en-Jarez in the southwest and Marcenod in the west.
