Caloire (also: Caloire , Occitan (unofficial): DECAI Léger ) is a French municipality with 316 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Étienne and the canton of Firminy . The inhabitants are called Calois .

geography

Caloire is located about 13 km west-southwest of Saint-Étienne on the Loire . Caloire is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chambles in the north, Saint-Victor-sur-Loire in the north-east, Unieux in the east and south-east, Saint-Paul-en-Cornillon in the south and Saint-Maurice-en-Gourgois in the west and south-west.
