Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue is a French commune with 1,095 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Loire department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in Canton Le Pilat (2015: Canton Bourg-Argental ) and part of the municipal association Monts du Pilat . The municipality is part of the Pilat Regional Nature Park . The inhabitants are called Saint-Salvatoriens .

Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue is the southernmost commune of the Loire department. It is located about 20 kilometers south-southeast of Saint-Étienne . Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Versanne in the north, Bourg-Argental in the northeast, Burdignes in the south and east, Riotord in the southeast and Saint-Régis-du-Coin in the west.
