The Communauté de communes des Monts du Pilat is a French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Loire department , whose administrative headquarters are in Bourg-Argental . It is located on the southern tip of the department and includes a large part of Mont Pilat , a mountain range reaching up to 1428  m that separates the Rhone and Loire valleys . The affiliated municipalities are part of the Pilat Regional Nature Park . The association of municipalities, which was founded at the end of 1993, consists of 16 municipalities on an area of ​​306.8 km 2 , the president of the association is Stéphane Heyraud.

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association determines the housing policy and operates the garbage disposal and road maintenance. The association also promotes cultural and sporting events.
