The Communauté de communes du Pays d'Urfé is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Loire department , whose administrative headquarters are in the town of Saint-Just-en-Chevalet . It is located in the west of the department on the east side of the Monts de la Madeleine , a mountain range in the north of the Massif Central . The community association, founded on June 28, 1996, consists of 11 communities on an area of ​​256.1 km ² . Its name refers to the D'Urfé family, who owned the lands around Champoly in the Middle Ages and Ancien Régime and whose best-known family member was Honoré d'Urfé . The president of the community association is Daniel Perotti.
