Chausseterre is a French municipality with 224 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). Chausseterre is part of the Roanne arrondissement and the Renaison canton ( Saint-Just-en-Chevalet until 2015 ).

geography

Chausseterre is about 30 kilometers southwest of Roanne am Aix . Chausseterre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Priest-la-Prugne in the north, Saint-Just-en-Chevalet in the east and northeast, Saint-Romain-d'Urfé in the south and east, Les Salles in the south and Arconsat in the west.

Chausseterre was detached from Saint-Romain-d'Urfé as an independent municipality in 1947.
